There were times when the dialogue felt stiff, partly because of the read and partly due to the writing. The speed could have been a touch faster, it was nice and steady throughout. Overall this was a really nice little read. I loved the narrative style, we had both leads POV's alternating. This really helps the reader engaging with the characters. This is a very minimal story and I would love to see it expanded.

It has a great concept that has so much to explore, I really hope the next book gives up a better picture of the world Ms Allie is creating. This is my first read from Geraldine Allie, she is a fairly new voice in writing.
See a Problem?
She has great potential and I hope to see much more of her work! Especially yummy bear shifters!!! Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions ad ratings are my own.

If you could sum up Sweeter than Honey in three words, what would they be? What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweeter than Honey? When she first discovers his "secret". For me it was like watching a movie she brought the characters to life.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you? Their first night "together". I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more by this author. Engaging, fun and short only because it was a novella vs. Who was your favorite character and why? As there were only 2 main characters in this story I like both John and Crystal. I thought that they worked well together personality wise and I would love to read more about them. Which character — as performed by Vanessa Hart — was your favorite?
Again, as this was a story about 2 people John and Crystal I liked both of them equally. Hart did portrayed them well.
Sweeter than Honey
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? Yes, I would because it was only an hour long. I would call this a novella vs. I would love to hear more about this couple and this series. Great quick story that is pretty steamy!! Great bedtime story for after the kids have gone to bed.
Sweeter Than Honey: Call of the Kodiak (Bear Shifters #1)
This is a short sweet short story. I would like if it had much drama in the middle. But overall I really enjoyed this story. Coming to narration it was also good. I couldn't wait more to read more by this author. What did you love best about Sweeter than Honey? It is a very sweet short story. It's about a bear shifter and when he sees her the first time he knows he's found his mate. Very good but very short story. Set perhaps in the late s USA, Crysta is a single woman, and doing quite well on her own in private business.
John is a business man in his own right, and his biggest business is honey. Once he sees Crystal, his inner beast takes over and he knows that he must convince her that he is the man for her. So I am totally guessing on the era this is set in. There are no phones or locomotives, but the USA is somewhat settled and Crystal is able to hold her own in the world of business. Honestly, I forgot because all the fun stuff happens out in the woods in a little cabin by the stream. She has to spend time with him out at the cabin, chatting about how beneficial it would be to combine forces in the business world via a marriage.
However John has this secret that he worries will drive Crystal away.
As you can guess from the title and the name of the series, John is a shifter. While it was predictable that all would work out, it was still sweet to see it come to fruition. There is one brief sex scene that I wish had been longer. The author left it in a good place for the next in the series to build upon. Vanessa Hart was a good choice. Her sultry southern voice for Crystal was honey on the ears. She also had a good voice for John, being very straight forward and a little gruff when needed.
This is a great little short story. I love a good Bear Shifter book not many around that keep my interest. But I really enjoyed the way John totally gets Crystals goat and how me intrigues her enough to do as he says. She isn't a push over per se.. But she isn't that hard to persuade either. How these two even come together was a bit funny too. Who would think a rich lady would do what she does? Would you try another book written by Geraldine Allie or narrated by Vanessa Hart?
