What we do Our free, therapeutic recreation camps help to develop the confidence, self-esteem, coping strategies and relationships of our campers. Our Vision Our vision is that all children and young people, living with the challenges of serious illness and disability, can access transformational therapeutic recreation camp programmes, free of charge. There are 50, children and young people in the UK living with a serious health challenge.
For these young people, quality of life is adversely affected by isolation and their inability to participate in many of the everyday activities enjoyed by their friends and peers.
Who can come to camp
Charitable spending ratios What are charitable spending ratios? Ratios have to be put in context. For example the accounting rules affect what can be classed as income or expenditure.
Where a charity which purchases land to further its objects the accounting rules do not permit including the purchase cost as charitable spending in its accounts. Ratios may also be affected by the way a charity operates. For example, a charity which primarily generates income from investments may have lower cost of raising funds than one which employs fundraisers.

A grant-making charity funding other charities to undertake an activity will have much lower staffing costs compared to a charity employing staff to perform that activity.
