Allie, I made your Toddler beanie with flap ears for my two granddaughters; Kylee, who is 4 and Henslee, who is 18 mos for Christmas. I think they turned out really cute and now my daughter wants one. Thanks for posting how to increase for adult sizes.
I am making hers in dark blue with white snowflakes. I can send you pics if you wish to see the ones I have made. Love your patterns very easy to follow for a beginner! I just finished making the Toddler size, but there is absolutely no way it will fit a toddler!! Tried it on my 3 year old and its tiny. Any ideas why that would be.

This would be newborn size I guess. I made your butterfly hat with no problems. I am a beginner as this is my 9th hat. I love your patterns!! Thank you so much for this pattern! I have already made 4 of the toddler size for my daughter, 2 nieces, and my nephew.
My older niece is getting one too but it will have to be a little bigger 6 years old but the size of a year old. I'm hoping that I increase it enough for her. In the next row, just alternate increasing on top of one increase, then not increasing on the next one - if that makes sense - so that you end up with 65 st.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I just finished the pattern, I followed it word by word and it is very short. It doesn't even cover half of my 2 year old daughter. Am I missing something? You must have missed something - did you use sport weight yarn? Did you repeat round 8 five times?
Hi, just started crochet and the pattern seems easy to follow but please could you let me know, when you say DC do you mean US or UK? I don't know what I did wrong.. It's kind of just flat. Any ideas what I did wrong? I'm relatively a beginner and trying to learn. Dear Alli, thanks for the wonderful pattern!

I have a small question, what would happen if I do not do the 3 chains in the start of every row? I started skipping them and so far so good, but I wanted to ask in case there are there for a technical reason? There is a technical reason - you need the chains to move up to the height of the next row. If you skip them, the hat may gather on that seam line and be shorter on that side than on the other side.
