The Washington Star listed it as part of one of the "seven wonders of the modern world" in , while Holiday magazine wrote in that the Empire State's height would be taller than the combined heights of the Eiffel Tower and the Great Pyramid of Giza.
According to the building's official website, more than movies contain depictions of the Empire State Building. The Empire State Building Run-Up, a foot race from ground level to the 86th-floor observation deck, has been held annually since Its participants are referred to both as runners and as climbers, and are often tower running enthusiasts.
