The gift shop is primarily stocked with local Native American art works. Docents are extremely knowledgeable about the Ojibwa culture and presentations Francie and her husband welcomed me into the museum with open arms. They provided me with knowledge of Ojibwa people along with stories from the past.
I highly recommend stopping in and learning about our native people and checking out the museum as it is I have been here many times, I took a friend who had never been to the museum. We are both members of the Chippewa tribe so this was very interesting for my friend to learn more of our history, and culture. Make sure to walk We learned a lot about Ojibwa culture and its emphasis on family and natural forces. Very informative and visually attractive displays, including a well done video, on inside are complemented by several outside features including the burial site of Father Marquette.
Outdoor sculpture is extremely well conceived and should be included in your walkabout.
