They have everything from Sci-Fi to history, religion to children's books, novels to do it yourself guides, and classics to self help. They sponsor and support local artists by frequently hosting, "Artmadillo" with snacks, drinks and gorgeous art sold by local artists.
They also carry also carry assorted jewelry, doo-dads and whatnot's which are handmade and beautiful, as well as carry an excellent fresh and locally roasted coffee brand, Songbird. I don't get the chance to visit this place as often as I would like to but whenever I'm in the area I almost always demand that my friends and I stop in there because the place feels absolutely magical. Love the friendly staff, love how home-y the store feels, and I love their selection of books which seems to rotate on a pretty ergular basis. Great place for workshops and small classes.
They help you get a book if they don't have it. You can trade in your older books for credit.

Owned and operated by a great special couple. Very nice, independent bookstore filled with many used and hard to find books. Located 5 minute walk off the Loyola stop, this is a great place to spend a lot of time browsing for your next good read! There are a few small rooms that each contain different types of books from fiction, non fiction, classics, sci-fi, you name it!
It's best to come here without a title or author in mind as this place allows you to further explore your interests when it comes to reading. You can test drive any book you want as there is a good amount of comfortable seating to relax in. The prices are fairly reasonable as the books are used, although some books I found in the non fiction area were very outdated and some weren't in the best condition.
If you have an open mind and enjoy browsing without being bothered, this is a great local business to support. This is truly a 'book purists' paradise. This shop is so much fun to visit if you love books! I could spend hours in here. The books are almost up to the ceiling and you keep finding more.
This place is a dream. I would if I were a cat that I could nap between piles of dusty books or on an eclectic upholstered chair There are books on the floor, stacked on shelves all the way up to the ceiling, and on small tables throughout. Please go now it's beautiful. Good prices, really good selection, super good vibes.

Really cool little place! This is the kind of bookshop you read about in books! So unique and full of little surprises - used books of all sorts, beads, art work, gifts, awesome little reading books and chairs. A wonderful little place with a huge selection. I always find at least one book to purchase and I always stock up on incense when I run in. It is wonderfully quaint and the employees are kind and always encourage you looking as long as you like.
I felt like I was in the library at Sunnydale High, with the addition of incense and cushy ottomans. Which is a huge compliment.

Every wall is lined with shelves overflowing with books. Books stacked on the floor because there's no more room anywhere else. Books stacked on books stacked on books. There's interesting art all over the place All sections are clearly marked and pretty much arranged by author. I came in to aimlessly browse and was very pleased; however I could understand coming in for a specific title and being confused or irritated at the chaos.
On the plus side of "not being Borders" I even spotted a few autographed copies so if you see an old favorite, check inside just in case. Kids crawling around the floor yelling and playing some kind of game; two older men talking about how they used to get high and go to ethnic restaurants and demand "make it like you eat it". This conversation was problematic on many levels, not least because one of the men works there. I've lived around the area for quite a few years now and I swear if I could live here I would.
The staff there is super friendly, I actually love walking into that place for the books as much as the people in it. I've never ever had a moment of doubt with anything, not with price, not with selections, they even have incense for sale! This is a neighborhood gold mine! Stop in and fall in love!

Unless you go to Loyola, you are making quite a pilgrimage north in the city to this little bookstore. And it's a cool little shop A lot of them tend to blend after a while. The weird art on the walls! The strange global music!
The collection does seem to be chosen with a good eye. Overall, if you're in the area this may be a good spot for you to frequent, but I don't think it will warrant me making frequent trips from my home. Chill atmosphere, and the selection of books was not terrible. Sign Up Log In. Oops, we can't find your location.
